With wry wit and hard-earned wisdom, popular online personality and founder of founder Rachel Hollis helps readers break free from the lies keeping them from the joy-filled and exuberant life they are meant to have.

Founder of the lifestyle website and CEO of her own media company, Chic Media, Rachel Hollis has created an online fan base of hundreds of thousands of fans by sharing tips for living a better life while fearlessly revealing the messiness of her own. Now comes her highly anticipated first book featuring her signature combination of honesty, humor, and direct, no-nonsense advice.

Each chapter of Girl, Wash Your Face begins with a specific lie Hollis once believed that left her feeling overwhelmed, unworthy, or ready to give up. As a working mother, a former foster parent, and a woman who has dealt with insecurities about her body and relationships, she speaks with the insight and kindness of a BFF, helping women unpack the limiting mind-sets that destroy their self-confidence and keep them from moving forward.

From her temporary obsession with marrying Matt Damon to a daydream involving hypnotic iguanas to her son’s request that she buy a necklace to “be like the other moms,” Hollis holds nothing back. With unflinching faith and tenacity, Hollis spurs other women to live with passion and hustle and to awaken their slumbering goals.

I absolutely love this book and have already recommend it to practically everyone I know!!! I do have a quick question though!!! I’m a Beachbody coach and where I can recommend this book to my female clients do you have or know any personal development books for men that I could recommend to my male clients? Has your husband wrote anything?
  • Like it was written for me

  • Girl, this one was tough to get through

    By Laura Reads
I heard great things about this book and was looking forward to reading it. I found most of Rachel’s advice to be general common sense... yes, idealistically don’t we all know we should follow our dreams and take care of ourselves first and eat less, be more active, etc. etc.? I also think her storytelling came through with bragging undertones. Yes Rachel, we get it that you are a runner and run a super successful media company. It definitely reads that her way is the only way to go through life. I also didn’t realize this had Christian undertones, which is a general turn off for me as a non-religious person. Some of her stories were cute, but I can honestly say I didn’t laugh or smile or feel inspired once while reading this book. As I told a coworker, I think it would be a better read if you were in your 20s, still trying to navigate life or going through trials and tribulations. For the average woman living a happy life, this book isn’t going to light a fire in you.
  • Life changing

I don’t normally do reviews on books, however this book deserves one. This book spoke to so many different areas of my life and has helped me work through insecurities and difficulties I didn’t even realize I had, or was going through. Thank you for writing this book, and being honest in telling your story, and for lighting a fire in me!
  • Good, Quick Read

It’s like she’s telling you the things you already know but won’t admit to yourself! Super relatable, super quote-able and occasionally funny. Talks about faith without being preachy - for the most part. Teaches you a lesson about yourself without feeling like work. Good light, easy, reading.

  • I think we are meant to be BFFs!!

I absolutely loved reading this book!!! I’m definitely gonna read it again and recommend it to anyone that will listen. I felt like I could relate to almost every story, and almost every single lie that Rachel addressed. I laughed a lot and cried and sometimes even re-lived feeling anxious in some of the situations she described. I took at least one take away from every chapter. I love her perspective on life in general! This was an amazing reading, I actually read it as part of a group which just made it so much better because then we ALL shared our own stories because of her being brave enough to be so vulnerable. So final verdict.... love it, amazing read, you won’t regret it, and read it with a friend if you can!
