Description

The instant #1 New York Times bestseller

"Ripped from the headlines . . . Combining in-depth, investigative reporting and fresh interviews, the authors effectively tabloid-proof this shocking, celebrity-driven story by lining up the facts and labeling rumors." --USA Today

Aaron Hernandez was a college All-American who became the youngest player in the NFL and later reached the Super Bowl. His every move as a tight end with the New England Patriots played out the headlines, yet he led a secret life--one that ended in a maximum-security prison. What drove him to go so wrong, so fast?

Between the summers of 2012 and 2013, not long after Hernandez made his first Pro Bowl, he was linked to a series of violent incidents culminating in the death of Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player who dated the sister of Hernandez's fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins.

All-American Murder is the first book to investigate Aaron Hernandez's first-degree murder conviction and the mystery of his own shocking and untimely death.

I did not like this book! And I have read most of JAMES Patterson’s novels!

I generally knew the story about Aaron Hernandez, but did not know the down in the weeds story. This book was excellent. Short chapters that kept me continually engaged in the story. A fast read if there ever was one. Well written and a real page turner. If you are into True Crime stories, this one is for you. My only negative comment is that more attention should have been paid to what made a highly talented football player, who was smart, want to spend his life living in the gutter when he had a $40 million contract that took him out of the gutter.

  • If you followed AH in depth, don’t buy or read

I followed Aaron Hernandez and both of his cases very carefully and if you did as well, don’t bother buying or reading this unless you collect his books. This whole book is a collection of google searches and articles found on google, pretty much word for word. I’m upset that this wasn’t more in depth. For people who didn’t follow Aaron Hernandez or his trials, the book can be useful just because the story of AH is fascinating on it’s own. But, you can save your money and read Rolling Stone “The Gangster in the Huddle”, which is a better read and 395 pages shorter and then google around for about 2 hours and there’s your book on Aaron Hernandez, which is what this basically is. I can count on one hand how many things I didn’t know before reading it. If you’re going to write a book about something that was highly covered in all forms of media, let’s gather facts and give us insight to things that we don’t already know.
