A New York Times bestselling epic. A blockbuster TV series. And now, George R. R. Martin’s breathtaking fantasy masterpiece makes its powerful graphic novel debut—with all the majesty, intrigue, full-blooded adventure, and sweeping, mythic vision that have made it a landmark work of imaginative literature.
Beyond the legendary Wall, the vast battlement that stands between the kingdom of Winterfell and the untamed unknown, something sinister and supernatural is stirring in the frozen wastes. For the lifelong soldiers of the Night’s Watch, sworn to protect the realm, it is time to prepare for the nearly endless season of cold and snow that—along with something unspeakable—is closing in. For Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell and patriarch of a fierce and stoic clan, it is time to greet his king . . . and make ready for whatever destiny holds in store. For an arrogant young prince, it is time to reclaim his lost throne, by bartering his innocent sister to be a savage warlord’s bride. And for a princess bound for a strange and brutal realm, it is time to begin a journey of transformation from daughter to wife to queen. All across the Seven Kingdoms, the wheels of tumultuous, life-changing history have begun to turn.

  • Layout stll a problem with graphic novels

    By MiamiRich
I don't get it. Why do digital graphic novels still cling to the print layout? To view this on a phone is maddening; and only slightly better on an iPad. Why can this be broken into separate frame and thumbed through more easily. It will keep the reader from doing so much pinch-to-zoom and scrolling all over the page to read the story. Good art. Reasonable summation of the story. Just frustrating to read due to the layout.
  • Can't get enough

It is a well done comic version but seems to cut a bit short for the price. You have to zoom in one page at a time to see the words and appreciate the artwork. All in all it follows the short version of the storyline wonderfully, just not enough of it in one book.
  • Graphic novel? I think not

The artwork is on par for what is currently offered on the comic book shelves. Nothing really pops out to make this work any different than the competition. This is not a graphic novel. It's a digital comic book. I'd suggest you pick up a used paperback of Game of Thrones and get the full story while using your own imagination for the imagery.
  • Kinda short

I bought this for my son, I have enjoyed the HBO series and am reading the fourth book now, my son expressed an interest in the series but I felt the show was not age appropriate. Not sure if all comics or graphic novels are about same length as this but for $4 I expected more than 35 pages.
  • Not as good as the book.

I am a big fan of graphic novels and when I saw Game of Thrones I was pleased to see another version of this story. The graphic novel does not do justice to the book or the HBO series. While the artwork is excellent, I feel disappointed in this effort and will not be purchasing future issues.
  • Good Adaptation

I was hesitant at first but after the first one I am impressed all around. The artwork is very fluid while maintains structure and depth. Coloration is near perfect with darks being dark and light that pops your eyes open. Detail is amazingly tasteful, never taking away from the scene but leaving plenty for the eyes.
