This is my first experience with this genre and author. I am usually a non-fiction reader, but decided to step out of my comfort zone. I am glad I did. EXCELLENT READ!!!

You will enjoy this book if you like guns vs vampires. Interesting finish which hopefully leads into a sequel very soon. Nice mix of characters with an adequate description of Alabama. A fun, fast paced read that surprises at every turn

Action packed! If you are a fan of Laurel K. Hamilton or Patricia Briggs you will enjoy this book. Larry Correia is as heavy on the descriptions of weaponry as Anne Rice is of clothing. But I must say that the plot moves along and the characters are well drawn. Enjoy,

This is my very first book review, so please bear with me folks. First off let me say that I believe this particular book to be one of the best books I have ever read. There is action, drama, betrayal, and enough sarcastic humor to keep one entertained from cover to cover. Even though there are some major similarities to many of the other Urban Fantasy series out there today, the characters and storyline was fresh and ingenious... If just a bit predictable. But hey, nothing is truly original anymore. The author has clearly played dungeons and dragons in the past and has (in my opinion) captured the best features of his monsters in his writing. This is really a great book for any fan of fantasy. 5/5 in my book!

Great read! Once it got going I just couldn't put it down. An awesome plot with some neat twists - I was reminded of the old Anita Blake novels by Laurel k Hamilton in its style. You really get to know and care about the characters. I don't usually review books but I was impressed enough to do so. I can not recommend this book (and the rest of the series) enough!!
